The Importance of
Strong, Nontoxic, Glass Dildos & Sex Toys
specialize in the education of sexual health and are the leader
in empowering education regarding nontoxic sex toys and other
sexual products. That is why we must let you know that not all
glass sex toys are nontoxic. In fact, some contain toxic chemicals
in the glass and in some cases are in the paint used to decorate
is important that you use a strong form of annealed glass otherwise
you may find that it will crack or break fairly easily. Our
glass toys are patented designs using a very strong Borosilicate.
Pyrex known under the brand name of Borosilicate glass. Another
type that is pretty solid and reliable is called soda lime glass.
The glass that we use in the dildos
that we sell, as opposed to Pyrex is German Schott glass,
which is a medical grade of Borosilicate and is even more pristine
than Pyrex glass.

glass used to be strong and safe but the name Pyrex really
does that mean much these days as the patent and trademark
was sold along with Corning to World Kitchen and some Pyrex
glass isn't actually quality glass anymore. In fact, when
tested, old Pyrex vs. new Pyrex shows that there is a lot
of stress on the glass meaning it is weak. Most educated
glass makers these days will not have many positive things
to say about Pyrex.
are some shady companies pretending to offer education to
consumers and promising their products are safe when they
actually are of very poor quality. In some cases they even
go so far as to claim that cheap glass dildos are made from
the same glass windows are typically made out (most often
called Float Glass). These companies warn of how these sex
toys will easily break into tiny bits and pieces, but these
claims are extreme and false scare tactics. The truth is
that while there are cheap glass sex toys that will crack
under stress they are not made of the same glass as windows.
What is interesting is that when tested, many of these companies
that use such overt scare tactics actually have their glass
sex toys fail basic stress tests when examined with a polariscope
(a device that uses polarized light for material stress
identification) thus, meaning they are essentially misleading
their customers to think that because they do not use window
glass their products their glass sex toys are durable when
they are not.
Borosilicate Shott brand glass that our glass dildos are
made with is slick, smooth and holds heat or cold nicely.
It is dishwasher safe, microwave safe and has very strong
durability. You can make these toys nice and warm to mimic
a lover, or cold to create some interesting stimulation
on various body parts. You can even keep hot water or ice
near the bed to alternate. Keep in mind no matter how strong
glass is that you have to gradually warm and cool them or
they can crack when exposed to extreme swings in temperature.
Our glass has no pores and absorbs nothing so when sanitized
it is unable to transmit STDs, bacteria or smell. It does
not stain and is not only a durable toy that will last a
life time but is also quite beautiful.
Colored Glass Sex Toys Safe?
if it is done correctly. The safe way that color must be applied
is by using a colored glass that is added inside the clear Pyrex
glass. However, there must be a thick layer of the Pyrex glass that
is added to coat the color in order to make it safe to use for durability
purposes as well as for the optimal hygienic purposes. Only Master
Glass Artisans understand how to achieve this and anything less
than these methods can make the glass weak and certainly not safe
to use sexually.
German Schott Pyrex glass is so strong that we have actually dropped
it on to a concrete floor from 4 feet and it not only did not break
the glass, it did not even crack. This does not mean it cannot break,
or that you should try this yourself, however, we wanted to test
how strong our glass dildos actually were and we were rather surprised
at how much abuse they could actually withstand. You should of course
never use any glass sex toy that has a crack or is broken.
Beware of Glass Paint
Some glass sex toys are decorated with spray paint or brush on paint
on their surface or just below it, which is known as glass painting.
Glass sex toys such as these are not safe to use. They can be quite
toxic if used as a sex toy as the paint can contain arsenic, lead,
mercury, sulfides, antimony, chromates and many other toxins. You
most likely will not find lead in the cheap glass toys because leaded
glass is more expensive and therefore wouldn't be used but consumers
still have to worry about the paints and decals not to mention if
it is actually strong glass and if it has been annealed. Paints
can contain solvents that can degrade the skin and because the skin
is absorbent these powerful toxins can cause extreme tissue damage
and even cancer. Weak glass can crack and cause serious injury so
make sure that if you purchase glass sex toys that you know what
you are buying. Again, this is why we are very particular about
the glass dildos that we sell and have a limited selection as we
refuse to sell cheap, poor quality products that may break or cause

a slippery surface which allows for easy penetration vaginally,
anally or orally.
Has no pores to absorb lubricants and minimizes the need for it.
Is able to be sterilized between uses and partners.
Borosilicate Schott glass is very easy to clean and can be washed
with soap and water, sex toy cleaner
as well as putting them in the dishwasher. Make sure the water is
at room temperature before adding or removing Pyrex glass as sudden,
drastic temperature changes may on rare occasions crack the glass.
Remember to stay away from abrasives so as not to scratch it.
our Borosilicate Schott glass insulates and holds temperatures,
warming your glass sex toy may provide additional sensory stimulation.
The most safe and proper way to heat your Pyrex glass takes about
20 - 25 minutes. Make sure your Pyrex glass is at room temperature
and then add very warm tap water directly on to it or by submerging
in a bowl or sink. Keep it submerged for about 5 minutes. Carefully
pour out or drain 1/2 to 2/3 of the water from the bowl or sink
leaving the glass partially under water. If you want it warmer,
you can then fill the remainder of bowl or sink with boiling water
and allow it to soak for 20 minutes. Always test temperature before
using Pyrex glass as it can burn skin at high heat. Remember, it
holds its heat very well.
glass toys is not a good idea. It may stick to skin or crack
if thawed too rapidly. For this reason, we recommend avoiding
extreme cooling or freezing methods. Use the same process
to safely cool your toy as you use to heat it. Just substitute
cool water for the very warm tap water and use ice water with
ice cubes instead of boiling water. This Process should also
take 20 - 25 minutes.
medical grade Borosilicate Schott glass is a superior material
for sex toys. Each toy is literally a work of art and makes
a wonderful gift for yourself or your lover. We have had customers
collect them and even display them as they are truly stunning.
More than anything, they are fun and pleasurable to use and
when properly taken care of will last a lifetime.
